With 6 weeks to go, International Repair Day (October 17) feels like it’s right around the corner. So, we thought we’d share some inspiration and ways to get involved.

Spain is currently transposing the European Right to Repair Directive through the Ley de Consumo Sostenible (Sustainable Consumption Law), led by the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and 2030 Agenda. Although the draft represents an important step forward, key issues, such as a clearer definition of what constitutes “reasonable repair prices” have yet to be addressed.

The EU’s R2R Directive was a big win for our campaign. By 31 July 2026, all EU Member States are required to transpose the Directive into national law. But what does the reality look like?

Following last Thursday’s final stakeholder workshop on the Circular Economy Act (CEA), the Right to Repair coalition is deeply concerned that the European Commission’s approach risks missing the core of what makes an economy truly circular.
